Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a powerful humectant, drawing water into the skin. Its polymeric structure makes it effective at various skin layers depending on molecular size.

Dosage form: Serums, gels, creams.

Most common indications:

  • Dehydrated skin

  • Fine lines from dryness

  • Barrier support

Common products:

  • Vichy Minéral 89

  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost

  • The Ordinary HA 2% + B5

Real-life application:
Used on damp skin before moisturizer to lock in hydration and boost plumpness.

Caution: Without sealing it with a moisturizer, HA can draw moisture out from the skin in dry environments.
